• Provinces shine

Hotels in the British provinces outshone those in the capital during October. In contrast with a decline in London, goppar was up 10% in Yorkshire and Humberside, and advanced 14.1% in Birmingham, reports Hotstats.In second city Birmingham, occupancy was up 3.4%, room rates improved 5.4% and non-rooms revenues also grew strongly. Hotels in the south east have also had a good quarter, with trevpar up 8.1% across Kent during October.
