The owners of Jurys Inn are considering a GBP700m sale or merger of the hotel chain. Credit Suisse and Eastdil Secured have been hired to advise on options for the 31 strong UK chain, reports the Sunday Times.

Marriott adds in Aberdeen

Marriott has signed to open a Residence Inn extended stay property in central Aberdeen. Construction of the 126 room property will begin early next year, for a summer 2017 opening.

Barclays Bank is suing the auditors of the Von Essen luxury hotel chain for damages. The bank lent funds to the group shortly before its demise, and argues it was misled, reports the Telegraph.

Accor links with China Lodging

Accor has signed a joint venture with China Lodging to work together in the China region. China Lodging becomes the master franchisee for Ibis, Novotel and Mercure in China, and will open up to 400 new hotels in the next five years.
