• New suitor for IHG

Dutch billionaire John Fentener van Vlissingen has bought a 3.2% stake in InterContinental Hotels. The investor, who owns the BCD travel empire, recently increased his holding from 2%, reports the London Times.

Van Vlissingen, who has a personal fortune estimated at EUR1.6bn, says he expects further consolidation in the hotel sector. He also holds a 24% stake in travel group Hogg Robinson.
