Expedia has agreed to buy Travelocity, paying seller Sabre Corporation USD280m. The two have had a strategic marketing agreement since 2013, with Expedia powering Travelocity’s technology platforms for US and Canadian websites.
Travelocity will now add to a brand portfolio that includes Hotels.com, Hotwire, Trivago and wotif.com. Travelocity has a strong presence in the US, where it is used by more than 30 million travellers a month.
