Plans by Thai authorities to reopen the island of Phuket have been put into doubt after the first covid-19 infection there in 100 days was reported. The tourist destination had planned an October reopening, reports Bloomberg.

International vistors accounted for two thirds of the country’s tourism income, prior to lockdown. The setback means almost 70% of hotels in the development pipeline have been put on hold.
