    UK’s staycation summer

    IHG reported a staycation summer in the UK, with almost all bookings from domestic guests. Through June to August, the company saw the same leisure-business mix as in 2019.     Minor struggles

    Thai group Minor International may have to make further staff cuts, as its home market remains closed to travellers. Chairman Bill Heinecke told Bloomberg that Thai government policy could force him to re-close hotels. Elsewhere, Minor’s hotels in China are now at pre-covid levels of occupancy.     Heidelberg double deal

    Investor BKV has forward purchased two hotel developments in Heidelberg, Germany. The Adagio aparthotel and IntercityHotel will not open until autumn 2022. The blocks, to be built alongside the city’s rail station, have been sold by developer GBI. The Adagio will have 162 rooms and the Intercity 198 rooms.

    KSL French buy

    KSL’s French affiliate Les Hôtels d’en Haut has bought three hotels in Luberon, France. The properties, totalling 64 rooms, were sold by French chef Edouard Loubet. The additions join HEH’s five existing French hotels and several luxury restaurants. KSL bought the group in summer 2019.
